I Have Been Fighting to Stop AI Data Centers in Escambia County — Because Leadership Means Showing Up Before Election Day

Updated: 4 days ago

Politics is local.

That is what this fight against AI data centers has proven. This issue has brought together Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, MAGA voters, and people who do not care about party labels at all. Around Escambia County, people may disagree on national politics, but they agree on this: our water, property rights, privacy, and community should not be sold out to Big Tech.

I am proud to have support from people across all parties in this movement. That is real leadership. Real leadership is not about dividing people. It is about standing with residents when something threatens their homes, their wells, their neighborhoods, and their future.

I joined other leaders in the fight against AI data centers because Escambia County residents demanded action. Residents showed up, spoke out, signed petitions, contacted officials, shared information, and forced this issue into the public conversation.

Because of that pressure, we now have a proposed ban on the table.

But the fight is not over.

A proposed ban only protects residents if it is written strongly. We cannot allow weakened language, vague exceptions, or loopholes that let Big Tech move forward anyway. Residents deserve to know exactly what is banned, what is allowed, and whether the ordinance truly protects our water, power grid, infrastructure, property rights, privacy, and quality of life.

No weakened ordinance. No loopholes. No AI data centers.

The concerns are serious. AI data centers could drain local water supplies and private wells. They could increase electricity demand, create noise and light pollution, place infrastructure costs on taxpayers, and bring no guarantee that construction or permanent jobs would go to local residents.

Residents also have real concerns about future expansion, property rights, eminent domain, AI surveillance, data collection, cybersecurity, and Big Tech influence in our communities.

This is not about being anti-technology. It is about being pro-community.

Our water is not for sale. Our property rights are not for sale. Our privacy is not for sale. Our community is not for sale.

That is why I am campaigning.

Michelle Salzman says yes to the proposed AI data center. I say no. I stand with the residents who are demanding transparency, accountability, and protection for Escambia County.

I am doing the work even before I am elected.

I have shown up, spoken out, worked with other leaders, listened to residents, and helped push this issue forward because that is what public service is supposed to look like. You do not wait until you have a title to defend your community. You do the work because the people deserve someone willing to fight for them.

Imagine what I can do once you put me in office.

I am running for Florida House District 1 because Escambia County deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and fights before the damage is done — not after the deal is already made.

This movement has already proven something powerful: when residents organize across party lines, we can force the conversation to change.

Now we must finish the job.

Sign the petition. Attend the meeting. Contact county leaders. Protect our water. Protect our property rights. Protect our privacy. Protect our community.

Please donate and share.

Every flyer, every door knocked, every call made, and every conversation helps us get the word out. We are fighting to protect Escambia County from AI data centers, mass surveillance, weakened ordinances, backroom deals, and Big Tech influence.

I am doing the work even before I am elected.

Imagine what I can do once you put me in office.

Donate today and share this message with your friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who believes our water, property rights, privacy, civil liberties, and community are not for sale.

Vote Francesca Yabraian for Florida House District 1.
