PENSACOLA, FL — The "Tallahassee Swamp" has officially declared war on regular Florida families. In a backroom deal with big donors, corrupt politicians are pushing HB 433, a bill designed to protect giant corporations while muzzling the people.
This is exactly why Francesca Yabraian is launching a Patriot Challenge for Florida House District 1. She is running to kick out Swamp politicians like Michelle Salzman, who has a 100% voting score from the biggest corporate lobbyists in the state (AIF). While families in Pensacola struggle, Salzman is busy carrying water for the elite.
THE 7TH AMENDMENT IS UNDER ATTACK: THE "TORT REFORM" SCAM
Salzman and her Swamp allies use the fancy words "Tort Reform" to hide what they are really doing: deleting your 7th Amendment right to a jury trial.
Look at what happened right here in Gulf Breeze with the Midway Water Crisis. Families were unknowingly drinking and bathing in raw sewage because of a massive utility screw-up. Because we still have our 7th Amendment rights, a jury of regular people was able to hold the "billion-dollar losers" accountable and award those families $37.5 million.
But the Swamp wants to end that. Under HB 433:
The Victim Pays: If you sue a big polluter and lose, you could be forced to pay their million-dollar legal bills. It’s a "Financial Wall" designed to keep you out of court.
The Lawyers Get Scared Off: If victims can't recover their legal fees, honest lawyers won't be able to afford to fight for you.
A Statewide Death Sentence: If this passes, the 7th Amendment will be DEAD in the whole state of Florida. If your water is poisoned tomorrow, you won't be able to find a lawyer to take the case because the Swamp rigged the rules for the corporations.
THE 1ST AMENDMENT MUZZLE
The Swamp is also trying to kill your 1st Amendment free speech. Their new "Agricultural Disparagement" rule means that if you post a video of toxic runoff or chemical smells coming from a big industrial farm, they can sue YOU for "damaging their reputation." Michelle Salzman is choosing corporate feelings over American lives.
